James Welburn Fleming
April 25, 1948 – March 14, 2024

James “Jim” Welburn Fleming of Prattville, Alabama passed away and entered into his eternal resting place that he called HOME, on Thursday March 14, 2024 at 5:26 PM.

He was born on April 25, 1948, in Maysville, KY to the late Welburn Power Fleming and Elizabeth Louis Carpenter Fleming Haughaboo. Jim was preceded in death by His Grandparents Loraine “Ma” Carpenter, A.C. “Pa” Carpenter, Welburn G. Fleming, and Alma Fleming.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Glenda Sue Finch Fleming and his son James Welburn Fleming, Il and Daughter-in-law Carla Chrystine Fleming. One Sister, JoAnn Dunlap (David) of Rancho Cordova, CA., and Nephew Josh Brooks (Shelley) of Shelbyville, KY, as well as Several nieces and nephews.

Jim had a passion to share the Gospel with anyone whom he encountered. He loved his church family at Hillside Baptist Church. Jim loved to be around people, he loved to fish, make Knives and muzzle loading rifles. He was a member of the Muscogee Long-Rifle shooting club and a Central Alabama Model A club in Montgomery. He attended the Hillside Baptist Church in Wetumpka, AL.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Hillside Baptist Church, 405 Old Montgomery HWY, Wetumpka, Al 36092, with Rev. Carl Reed and Rev. Gary Aldridge officiating. Then again later into the summer in Vancleve, KY where he will be buried at a cemetery on the Mt. Carmel Campus in Vancleve, Ky officiated by Rev. Stephen Richmond.

If Jim could say something, he would say serving the Lord is worth it, no matter the cost. Psalm 37:37 “Mark the perfect man and behold the upright; for the end of that man is peace.” Joshua 24:15 “…choose you this day whom ye will serve…but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Romans 8:28
“And we know that all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose.” Do not be sorry for me…I am Home
