Jean F. Mitcham

Jean F. Mitcham (Welch) passed away on March 3, 2025, in Roanoke, Alabama, at the age of 87.
Born on February 16, 1938, in Lafayette, Alabama, Jean graduated from Milltown High School in 1956. She dedicated 27 years of service to Uniroyal, where she built a fulfilling career.
Jean found joy in spending time with her family and had a passion for shopping. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth and kindness touched many lives. Her presence will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Thad (Debby) Mitcham and Scotty (Michele) Mitcham; daughter-in-law, Nancy Mitcham; eight grandchildren: Lynn (Scott) Windsor, Mark (Susan) Mitcham, Beth Robertson, Chad Mitcham, Courtney (Evan) Weathers, Cale (Megan) Mitcham, Cameron Mitcham, and Chloe Mitcham; nine great-grandchildren: Chandler Weathers, Callie Weathers, Cate Weathers, Lennon Mitcham, and five more; as well as her siblings Bruce (Margie) Welch and Delene (Jamie) Tassin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Murphy and Maggie Welch; her husband, James Doy Mitcham; stepson, Tony Mitcham; and ten siblings.
Jean’s memory will live in the hearts of those who loved her.
