Jeffrey Ross Geer

Jeffrey Ross Geer passed away on September 18, 2020 at the age of 77. A memorial service and interment of cremated remains will at a later date to honor Mr. Geer.

He was born in Blakely, Georgia to the late William Asbury Geer and Jeffery Eula Pruett Geer. He is alsopreceded in death by his brother, William Asbury Geer Jr.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Geer Schallerand her son, William Geer Schaller; stepdaughter, Lisa Sheffield Ballard (David) and their sons, Lee Cannon Ballard III and Garrett O’Neil Ballard; former wife, Betty Frank Noble; sister, Rebecca Geer; brother, Dr. Melvin Earnest Geer (Carol); half-sister, Amy Geer; stepmother, Nell Geer; various other loving members of the Geer family; beloved friends; and 2 beloved dogs, Mick (Labrador) and Molly (Golden Retriever) who will be provided loving homes by the East Alabama Humane Society.

Jeffrey Geer had a Business Degree from theUniversity of Georgia. He also served in the Army as a First Lieutenant during the Vietnam War. For the majority of his life, Jeffrey was a senior executive inthe soft drink industry at companies including Royal Crown Distributers, Canada Dry, and Cott Beverages. During this time, he held positions such as Vice President and Controller. He was also a builder and even built his beautiful, family home. In his retired years, he was an antique dealer, and had a passion for the preservation of antiques. He had a wonderfully eccentric style. He loved his dogs, fishing, and the outdoors. He loved Fernandina Beach, Florida; theSouth Carolina Coast; and Pine Mountain/Callaway Gardens where he would walk his beloved dogs, Mick and Molly every couple of days. On Saturday mornings he loved to go on antiquing or “junking” adventures after a breakfast of delicious pancakes. He had a beautiful, creative, and intelligent spirit. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
