Louis Franklin Loughry, Jr.

December 22, 1956 – October 10, 2022

 

Louis (Lou) Franklin Loughry, Jr.  was born December 22, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland and passed away on October 10, 2022 while in the care of Kindred Hospice, at Canterberry Healthcare. He was 65 years old.

 

Lou was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Franklin Loughry Sr. and Edna Mae Delawder Loughry

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Judy Ann Hale Loughry, step-son, Doyle Campbell (wife Angela) of Augusta, Georgia, step- daughter Chrystal Carr (husband Brandon) of Des Moines, Iowa, along with three grandsons Cameron, Weston and Jackson Carr.  He is also survived by his four sisters, Sharon Thompson, Garland, North Carolina, Shandra Green of Taneytown, Maryland, Glenda Woener of Orrpanda, Pennsylvania,  June Bitzel of Westerminster, Maryland, and one brother Ronald Hartmann of Westminster Maryland, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and the family dog, Coco.

 

Lou was a long haul truck driver for over 40 years. He loved hunting and fishing in his spare time. While in Hundred , Pennsylvania he volunteered in the bus ministry at his local church. Lou was a kind and generous man who made it his mission to help people in need whether by offering a place to stay, food to eat or providing transportation.

 

Memorial Service to be held at Lakewood Baptist Church,  4011 Lakewood Drive, Phenix City, Alabama on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.  The family will be receiving guests 30 minutes prior to service.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lakewood Baptist Church (LBC) Benevolence Fund or LBC Food Bank.
