Carl Eric Yoder

April 23, 1964 – September 7, 2026

Carl Eric Yoder, affectionately known as Eric, passed away unexpectedly on September 7, 2026, at the age of 62. Born in West Virginia, he was the son of Harold and Betty Yoder and younger brother of Craig Yoder.

Eric worked for many years at Columbus Foundry before retiring early. He was passionate about being a firefighter and proud to serve others. Eric made friends wherever he went and loved spending time with them at Locals Bar and Grill. He loved to laugh, had an unforgettable sense of humor, and never met a stranger. He also had a well-known appreciation for the ladies and enjoyed making people smile.

Eric is survived by his only child, Ashley Brooke Cupp, whom he lovingly called “Doodle Bug,” her fiancé, Tom Callahan, his former wife, LeAnn, and the five beautiful grandchildren he and LeAnn share: Miya Nadine Cupp, Makenzie Lynn Nichole Cupp, Major Robert Cupp, Samson Gabriel McPherson, and Colton Brice Callahan.

Dad, after years and years apart, life had finally begun to bring us back toward one another. You had recently started trying to find your way back into my life, and I held onto hope that we would have the chance to see each other and make new memories. Sadly, you passed before that moment could happen. I wish we had been given more time, but I will always carry the hope that brought us back toward each other. I hope you’re somewhere laughing that unforgettable laugh, making friends, and enjoying life. Until we meet again, Dad. I love you.
