David Cargill
February 1, 1942 – September 30, 2022

David Cargill passed away at Compassus Bethany House Hospice on September 30, 2022. He was 80 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Bankston Cargill; their two sons, Brantley Cargill (Mollie) and Chris Cargill; his brother, Don Cargill (Margaret); granddaughters Layne, Madalyn and Anslie. After retiring from the City of Opelika, David began what would become one of the greatest joys of life, playing Santa Claus.  So many knew and loved him as Santa in and around Opelika, and his family cherishes the memories made during those times. David was also a beloved active member of Pepperell Baptist Church of Opelika.
