Denise Claudette Mika passed away on May 11, 2025 in Auburn, Alabama. She was 81 years old.

Denise Claudette Mika was born on February 13, 1944, in New Brunswick, Canada to the late, Roland Saindon and Aurelie Dube Saindon. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Pelletier and the love of her life, her second husband, John J Mika, Jr.; brothers, Roger Saindon and Laurier Saindon; sister-in-law, Anne Dubois; & brothers-in-law, Paul Mika, Doran Pelletier, and Donald Pelletier.

Denise is survived by her daughter, Sandra A. Pelletier of Auburn; step-son, John J. Mika, Jr. (Lisa) of Seabrook, NH and step-daughter, Carol Mary Carlson of Sacramento, CA, her “adopted” daughter, Elaine Manning (Mike) of Opelika; grandchildren, Megan L. Mika of Seabrook, NH and Tristan Lewis of Hampton, NH; sisters, Pauline Marquis (Bob) of St. Leonard, NB Canada, Gerald Saindon (Ana) of Leech, NB Canada and Jeannine Saindon of Rivière du Loup, PQ, Canada; sisters-in-law, Aline Veilleux of Sherbrooke, PQ , Canada, Jeanette Casinghino of Seymour CT, Doreen Broughal of Rocky Hill, CT, Jane Pelletier of New Britain, CT, Doris Bellucci of Florida and Adeline Pelletier of Perham Maine; “adopted” granddaughters, Sara (Patrick) Stephens of Marietta, GA, Mattie ( Binod) Subba of Opelika, AL and Olivia Jimmerson of Birmingham, AL; godchildren, Kim Marquis of St. Leonard, NB, Canada, Linda Marquis of Rivière du Loup, PQ, Canada and Michael Casinghino of Plainville, CT;”adopted” great-grandchildren, Opal K Subba, Lane A. Subba both of Opelika, AL and Erin J. Stephens of Marietta, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her caregivers, Doris Mezick and Linda Newsome.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. John A. Abrams, his staff and all the staff at Bethany House. Flowers are accepted or donations can be made to American Cancer Society or Michael J. Fox Foundation.

She was immensely loved for her sassiness and sense of humor and will be greatly missed.

A service will be Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 2:00pm at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with Reverend Gabriel Mills officiating, 1100 N. College St. Auburn, AL. A private graveside blessing will be at a later date.
