Edward "Dutch" Collins, Jr.

Mr. Edward "Dutch" Collins, Jr., 78, of Opelika, AL passed away Monday, June 16, 2025, at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL.

Mr. Collins was born on March 3, 1947, in Miami, FL to the late, Edward Collins, Sr. and Jimmie Hand. He spent most of his career working with Newell Road Builders. He enjoyed his family, friends, and especially his dogs, Brownie, Bailey, Thumper, and his best friend, Hunter. He had a passion for SEC football and was a big Auburn fan.

He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Norma Mae Collins.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Peggy Shehane Collins, his four children, Bubba Collins (Kim), Pam Doswell (Eddie), Candace Collins and Paul Edwards (Amanda); his 2 brothers, Robert Collins and Jim Collins (Karen); sister, Jaynie Schmidt; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
