He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Levin Wallace McDonald Jr. and Richard Scott McDonald.
He is survived by his son, James Kenneth McDonald II; two granddaughters, Makensie LeAnn McDonald and Jennifer Rose Brantley; his siblings, Evelyn McDonald Goodson, Terry Wayne McDonald, John Douglas McDonald, Joyce McDonald Chocklett, Sandra McDonald Fuller (Donald Fuller), David Eugene McDonald (Nelda McDonald); a great host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends; and the Church on the Rock family, whom he loved.
He shared so many wonderful stories about worship and fellowship with different members of Church on the Rock. He also enjoyed working on projects; one was the “Freedom Farms.” He cared deeply about this farm and wished he could had done more.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice who came in his last hours and selflessly gave of themselves to provide care and comfort in the most loving and caring way. The last steps of his journey were rough, but having them on board, with the expertise they provided, made it so much better.
The family would also like to extend their appreciation to Saint Francis Hospital for a quick diagnosis and the compassionate care he received.
