Janis Annette Alsup Goins
November 6, 1937 – October 3, 2025

Janis Annette Alsup Goins, of Smiths Station, Alabama, passed away at home on October 3, 2025. She was 87 years old.

Janis was born in Wetumka, Oklahoma, on November 6, 1937, to the late Benjamin Ray Alsup and Sarah Vivian Story Alsup. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Billy James Goins; sons, Randall Lee Goins and Billy James Goins II; brother, Michael Alsup; and sister, Phyllis Schmidt.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Pounds, Leisa Cierley, Vyckie Goins, and Monica Goins; grandchildren, Benjamin Goins (Christina), LaRee Guevarra (Rowell), Kristopher Bellas, Lacey Gould (Jeff), Courtney Rasch (Jon), BillyRay Bellas (Shelbey), Tiffany Pounds-Williams (Christopher), Billy James Goins III, and Sarah Imakavar (Bobby); 34 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-great-grandchild; brothers, Stan Alsup and LeRoy Schmidt; sisters, Toni Blagg and Mary Gilliam; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and many Fostered-in-Love children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Fellowship Assembly of God Church in Smiths Station, Alabama. She and her husband pastored churches for more than 50 years in Arroyo Grande, CA; Lone Pine, CA; Bakersfield, CA; Miami, AZ; Porterville, CA; Cedar Creek, AZ; and Wasco, CA. She was immensely loved and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Services will be held at the Fellowship Assembly of God in Smiths Station, Alabama, on October 25th at 11:00 AM EST, and at the Bakersfield California National Cemetery on November 21st at 10:45 AM PST.
