Jimmie F. Gunter

Jimmie F. Gunter, 80, passed away on July 6, 2023 in Mobile, Alabama.

He was born in Mize, Mississippi on January 18, 1943 to the late, John C. and Mattie D. Sullivan Gunter. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Forbes Gunter; siblings, Polly, Charles, Sally, Doris, Pete, and Dimples; and grandchild, Rylie Grace Evans.

He is survived by his daughter, Tracey Mitchell; sons, Jimmie Gunter, Jr. and John Gunter; grandchildren, Christopher Mitchell (Hannah) and Chasity Evans (Jeremy); great-grandchildren, Claire, Cullan, Coree and Caroline Mitchell and Allie & Eli Evans; sister, Sandra Sellers; many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and his little lapdog, Cotton.

Jimmie was proud to have served his country as a United States Marine. He was an avid Alabama football fan, and he passed that love and tradition to his children and grandchildren. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Saad's Hospice caretakers including Tessa, Whitney and Lauren.

A Celebration of life will be held at Bayfront Park. Further details will be announced at a later date.
