John Wayne Barber passed suddenly on January 31, 2021 at the age of 57. He was a resident of Glenwood Center in Florence, AL and prior resident of Clarksville, TN.
John was born on February 5, 1963 to the late, Martha Jamison Maddox. He had nine siblings.
John is preceded in death by two siblings, his beloved step-father, Sgt. Paul Maddox (Deceased Vietnam War), and mother.
John is survived by his guardians/brother and sister-in-law, Victor and Sabrina Morris. He was Uncle John to a nephew, Victor E. Morris, III, " Trey" and a niece, Jennifer "Jenny" Haug (James) and a great nephew (Baby Haug).
John is survived by two sisters: Jean Maddox Gay (Ernie) and Paula Maddox Moore (Jay) who knew him as Waynie. His nephews are: Justin Maddox, Jordan Maddox, and Mason Moore. He has a great niece, Adrianna Maddox, and two great nephews: Julian Maddox and Josiah Maddox.
John enjoyed painting, drawing, playing games, listening to WAY FM and never meeting a stranger. He had a sweet sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. In his final belongings were his Bible and many art projects.
He is a Christian that valued respect and the san ctity of life. He shared his faith openly with those he met.
In lieu of flowers. Call a loved one today because you never know when that maybe the last time you speak. Say a prayer and talk with God because that relationship with the Lord is one that is everlasting.

A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, February 21st at 1:00pm CST at 2nd Mile Church, 804 S. Riverside Dr, Clarksville, TN 37040 with Pastor Cal Hampton. He will be offering inspiration and laying to rest of his ashes returning John's earthly body to TN.
Alabama Funeral Homes & Cremation Centers is handling arrangements. They have been amazing in the handling of this final act of love and kindness for John.
