Katherene Dalrymple House

Katherene Dalrymple House, age 82, of Alabaster, AL, passed away October 24, 2025 at Baptist Health Shelby Hospital, Alabaster, AL.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Hurell House, her parents, Varnell and Mary Adell H. Dalrymple, and her half-sister, Mae D. Brooks.

Mrs. House is survived by one daughter, Tammy Renee Higgins of Commerce, GA, a very special granddaughter, Charlize Renee Higgins of Forest Park, GA, and her sister, Jeanette D. Raymond of Alabaster, AL. She is also survived by 2 nephews, Brandon S. Gautney (Kylie) of Alabaster, AL, Jason T. Gautney (Anna) of Auburn, AL, and 3 great-nephews and one-great niece.

Mrs. House grew up in Roanoke, AL and graduated from Handley High School. She lived most of her married life in South Carolina and Georgia. She retired in 2004 as an investigative assistant with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in Atlanta, GA.

During her employment at the Bureau, she worked with the Automated Fingerprint Division, Special Investigations Unit, Internal Affairs, the 1996 Olympics Security Team, Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, and the State Drug Task Force. After her retirement, she worked several years for H & R Block. She later moved to Dadeville, AL, to Opelika, AL and then Alabaster, AL. Mrs. House was a Methodist by faith and was a member of Red Ridge United Methodist Church in Dadeville, AL.

There will be an interment service only in Forest Park, GA at a later date.
