Leonard Ellington Byrd

1967-2021

Leonard Ellington Byrd was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on January 8, 1967 and passed away at his home in Opelika, Alabama on April 25, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Bernard Byrd, Sr. and LaDean Gale Peacock; brother, Leonard Bernard Byrd, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kimberly Cox Byrd; sons, Bryan Jimmy Ellington Byrd (Jenevieve), Michael Allen James Byrd; granddaughters, Isabelle Lee Josephine Byrd, Rebekah Snow Susanna Byrd; brother, Timothy Theron Byrd (Amy); sister, Lara Armelia Hobbs, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

Visitation will be held in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Friday, April 30, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. CDT until 3:45 p.m. CDT.

Memorial service will be held Friday, April 30, 2021 in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. CDT with Pastor Francis Crouell officating.

In lieu of flowers or money donated in his honor, please consider planting a tree in his memory. Some of his favorites were crape myrtles, willows,  cedars and Japanese Maples.
