Martha Ellen Cunningham
July 23, 1949 – May 4, 2024

Martha Ellen Cunningham, 74, of Opelika, Alabama was born in Des Moines, Iowa and passed away recently at home in Opelika.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Sarah VanGilder; father, Conrad VanGilder; and her sister, Karla Choron.

She is survived by her cousins, Mary Libbe and M.J. Marshall and their families; the Bridges family; and many close friends and coworkers. She was immensely loved and will be greatly missed.

Martha was employed by West Point Stevens, Lee OBGYN, Oral and Facial Surgery of East Alabama under Drs. Grady and Putnam, and the Orthopedic Clinic throughout her career as a registered nurse.

Graveside Services will be Tuesday, May 7th at Memorial Park Cemetery located at 1000 E Samford Ave Auburn, Al 36830 at 4:30 p.m. CT.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Providence Baptist Church Building Fund in her honor. The family would like to extend thanks to Home Care of East Alabama and Dr. Clay Harper of Surgical Clinic, PC.
