Michael Alvis Jones, of Attalla , Al., passed away Wednesday evening at UAB after fighting a good fight against Cancer. He was 70 years old.
Michael Alvis Jones was born in Clinton, Ohio on August 2, 1953 to the late, Alvis Junior Jones and Margaret Virginia Dollar Jones Satterfield. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Sheila Margaret Jones Norris and Sherry Lynn Jones, his brother, Mark Lee Jones, and several additional friends and family members, all awaiting him as Michael arrived in heaven that day.
He was survived by his brother, Rev. Dr. Phillip Norman Jones of Birmingham; his nephew, Derek Lee Jones of Gadsden; niece, Jessica Leigh Jones of Louisiana; six great-nephews and nieces; one great-great-niece; several wonderful cousins; one amazing Aunt, Brenda Dollar Preston; one cousin, who helped care for Michael, Luther Don Graves; and other loving friends and family members who will truly miss him.
Michael had such a kid heart, and he would give anyone anything he had. He cared very much for his family, friends, plants, and pets. He will be very much missed here on earth but joyfully welcomed in his new Heavenly Home.
Michael enjoyed listening to music, going to gospel singings, shopping at antique store, watching movies, and being with friends and family.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the UAB ICU and UAB Palliative Care team for their kindness and compassion.
Services will be held at Ivalee Baptist Church Fellowship Hall located at 2020 Gallent Rd. Attalla, Al. 35953 on February 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. CT with Rev. Dr. Rodger Beshears and Rev. Dr. Phillip N Jones officiating.
