Raymond Lorenza Coker
March 22, 1962 - October 10, 2026
Raymond Lorenza Coker, 64, of Highland Home, Alabama, tragically passed away in a house fire, leaving behind a family who will forever cherish his memory and the love, laughter, and unforgettable moments they shared with him.
Raymond was preceded in death by his beloved parents, William and Fay Coker and his brother Morris Coker.
He leaves behind his five children: Maranda Coker (Billy) of Prattville, Alabama; Sandy Lalama (David) of Wallingford, Connecticut; Raymond Coker (Nichole) of Lapine, Alabama; Sarah Fork (David) of Wetumpka, Alabama; and Roy Coker of Manhattan, New York. His legacy continues through his nine grandchildren, Vicky Bass, Kimberly Watkins, Lexy Bass, Alexis Coker, RJ Coker, Haley Fork, Maddie Fork, AJ Barriger, and Nathan Coker, as well as his five great-grandchildren, Addilyn Hudson, MK, Blakeleigh, Jacob, and Eliyannah, who brought him so much joy.
He also leaves behind his sisters, Becky Brassfield (Steve), Lorreen Green (David) and Jessica Coker. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Raymond dedicated 30 years of his life to working as a mechanic, specializing in transmissions. He was a hardworking man who took pride in his skills and knew his way around an engine. But beyond his work, some of his greatest passions were much simpler: a fishing rod in his hand, time spent with his family, and the sound of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren laughing around him.
Raymond had a personality that was impossible to forget. He was always ready to make someone laugh, and if you needed help, he was often the first one to show up. Of course, he would make sure you heard exactly what he thought about the situation along the way! That was part of what made him who he was—honest, outspoken, funny, and always willing to lend a hand when it mattered most.
Above all, Raymond loved his family. His time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was especially precious, and those memories will live on in the stories told, the laughter shared, and the love passed down through generations. Though his life ended far too soon and under tragic circumstances, the impact he made on those who knew and loved him will never be forgotten.
Raymond leaves behind a family who will miss his humor, his straightforward nature, his helping hands, and the memories that only he could create. While the pain of his sudden passing is immeasurable, his legacy lives on in the five children he raised, the grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved him, and everyone whose life he touched.
He may be gone from our sight, but he will never be gone from our hearts. May he rest in peace, forever remembered and forever loved.
The family has chosen to honor Raymond’s memory privately. Funeral services and burial will be held privately.
