Reda Ann McGhee
March 23, 1936 – January 26, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Reda McGhee, affectionately known as, "Loki," on Friday, January 26th, at the age of 87. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose presence brought joy to all who knew her. Loki was born and raised in Alexander City, Alabama, where she attended Benjamin Russell High School. It was there that she met her husband, Bobby, and they became high school sweethearts, eloping in Quitman, Mississippi, unable to wait for their future together.

Throughout her life, Loki lived in various cities, including New Orleans, New Algiers, and Houma, Louisiana, as well as Houston, Corpus Christi, and Plano, Texas, following Bobby's career opportunities. A talented decorator and seamstress, she transformed each house into a warm and welcoming home. Her interests extended to stained glassmaking, cooking, playing bridge, square dancing and painting.

In 1986, Loki and Bobby retired to Notasulga, Alabama, where they fulfilled their dream of building a pecan farm, lovingly named The Pecanderosa. She was a pillar of the community, known for her kindness and generosity. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but her spirit will forever live on in the cherished memories she created.

A service will be held in her honor at Liberty City Methodist Church on Sunday February 4th at 2 pm, 5607 Tallapoosa St. in Notasulga, AL.

Loki is preceded in death by her parents, George Reuben Fuller and Ressie Mae Fuller, as well as her siblings, Harlan, Dawson, and Juanita. She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Bobby Frank McGhee; her daughter, Valorie Brunson (Wayne Brunson), Cynthia McGhee-Frankhouser, and Rachel McGhee; her grandchildren, Zachariah Brunson (Kai Brunson), Jessica Brunson (Bobby), Lauren Megrelis (Owen), and Delaney Frankhouser; and her great-grandchild,  Dazen Brunson.
