Robert Elton Bowden, Sr. passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022 in Opelika, AL. A visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. CT in the parlor of Frederick-Dean on Sunday, October 23, 2022. Funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Frederick-Dean Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Tallapoosa County Memory Gardens located at 21927 US Highway 280 Camp Hill, AL 36801 with Rusty Haradon officiating.

Robert was born on March 21, 1930 in Titus, Alabama to the late, William A. and Cora Curlee Bowden. He is also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Carolyn Faye Bowden; and son, Wayne Poe.

He is survived by his children, Nancy Higley (Dick), Kay Pitchford, Vicky Poe, Tony Poe (Sheila), Cathy Dunavant, Jeannie Wiechec (James), and Robert Bowden, Jr.; grandchildren, Carolyn Nixon, Tasha Pitchford, Robbie Pitchford, Angie Coley, Joe Poe, Dustin Poe, Tierra Poe, Allen Poe, Jackson Brown, Trey Poe, Emily Antoniak, Erika Sears, T.J. Wiechec, Jared Wiechec, Justin Wiechec, Jordan Wiechec, Stephen Bowden.

He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
