Robert Eugene Maddox

Robert Eugene Maddox, of Opelika, Alabama, passed away peacefully in Cusseta, Alabama on March 14, 2026, at the remarkable age of 64.

Robert “Bobby”was born in Opelika, Alabama on August 18,1961 to the late Inez K Maddox and Robert Milton Maddox. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Connie Maddox; his grandparents, Cora Mae Knowles and John Henry Knowles; and his dear cousin and best friend, Jimmy Knowles.

Robert leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory always. He is survived by his children, Leah King (Chris) and Todd Morgan. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Dean Gladden, Christopher King, and Caleb King. He is also survived by his brother, Lamar Birmingham; his nieces and nephews, Crystal Cook (Dale), B.J. Birmingham (Valerie), and Erin Birmingham; along with many other beloved family members and friends.

Robert had a deep love for sharing God’s Word preaching and serving others. He enjoyed woodworking, kayaking, fishing, spending time outdoors, and most of all, being with his family.

He was a faithful member of Living Word Church in Ladonia, Alabama, where he was blessed by the leadership of Pastor Michael Roberts.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses with Compassus, especially Kim W. and Russell, for the loving care they provided.
