Sarah Joann Vaughn

Sarah Joann Vaughn was born on March 8, 1935 in Dutton, AL and passed on March 2, 2025 at her home in Dadeville.

She is preceded in death by her parents Virgil Sparks and Bertie Griffin Sparks; her siblings, Rodney Sparks, Dwight Sparks, Ann Sparks Thorne; and her loving husband, Robert Winston Vaughn of 70 years.
She leaves behind 5 children, Tamara Yewell (Chuck), Melanie DeWeese (Mike), Tyler Vaughn (Lisa), Julie Kline, and Brownie Caldwell (David). She also leaves 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild who is on the way.

She made sure her children knew the Lord and were involved with the church. She was known for her work ethic, as she served 30 years in food service for Clayton County Schools in Ga. She gave selflessly and she had a love for the outdoors. Her support for her family's activities was immeasurable as she attended everything from sprting events to music recitals. She loved going on church retreats and traveled all 50 states with her lunchroom ladies. She was known for "Grandmamas Taxi" and enjoyed every minute of it.

A service will be held for Mrs. Sarah Joann Vaughn on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11 a.m. CT at First Baptist Church Dadeville located at 178 S Tallassee St, Dadeville, AL 36853. Family will receive guests at 10 a.m. prior to the service.
