Shelia Kay Tinney
February 26, 1957 – April 18, 2026

Shelia peacefully passed away on April 18, 2026, at Baptist Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama. The family would like to thank the staff for the great care she received there.

Shelia was born to and preceded in death by her parents, Leroy M. Tinney and Ineller Tinney Culver; and her loving stepfather, Lois Culver.

She leaves behind two daughters, Kimberly Tinney (Michelle) of Rockford; Melanie Tinney Woods (Lavelle) of Columbiana; and five cherished grandchildren: Mariya, Sydnie, Ki’mora, Chyna, and Jasper who she adored very much.

She also leaves behind three brothers, Douglas Tinney (Amber) of Rockford, Tommy Tinney (Debra) of Ragland, Glenn Tinney of Rockford; and one sister, Karen Tinney Crass of Rockford.

Shelia was a very hard worker and a dedicated worker for 30 years at Himic Company. She enjoyed her time there as assistant to the company owner.

After her retirement, she returned home to help take care of her mother and stepfather due to illness, in which she spent lots of time outside with her mother planting flowers.

Most of all, she enjoyed being with her grandchildren, whom she loved so very much.

Shelia was loved by so many and will be missed forever by her family, but she will always be in their hearts.

Within the coming months, there will be a memorial service at the home which will be announced at a later date.
