William Ray Lewis, Jr.

December 11, 1944 – January 24, 2025

William Ray Lewis, Jr. of Sylacauga, AL, passed away on January 24th at the age of 80.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Thera Lewis, and his wife, Sandra Coleman Lewis.

He is survived by his son, Stephan Lewis (Melissa), granddaughter Ally Lewis, brother Jerry Lewis (Rhonda), sister-in-law Janice Reams, a host of nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Ruby.

Bill was a decorated war veteran, serving in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for his service. Upon his return home, he later joined the Army National Guard. He was an active member in American Legion Post 45 in Sylacauga.

He worked with Avondale Mills where he ended his career in the internal auditing department.

There will be a memorial service at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo. Arrangements will be shared soon.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research hospital.
