Raymond M. “Buck” Phillips

October 25, 1938 – October 5, 2020

On Monday, October 5, 2020, Raymond M. “Buck” Phillips, passed away at the age of 82 at his home in Reeltown, Alabama.

 

Buck was born on October 25, 1938 in Manchester, Ga to Raymond and Lois Phillips. He wore many professional hats. Among them were, United States Marine, Banker, Package Store owner and Bail Bondsman. The last 28 years were spent as Disaster Team Leader with D & J Enterprises in Auburn, AL.

 

Buck had a passion for life and laughter. A deep love for God, family, country, the Marine Corps and all service members. He always took command of the room with a plethora of stories from his childhood to recent times. He often said that many people had been where he had been but very few had taken the path he took. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Every gathering began with the Pledge of Allegiance, prayer and “HELLO WORLD!”

 

Buck was preceded in death by his daughter Rosalyn Sheets (Gilbert). He is survived by his beloved wife Eve, his children Susan Langlois (Carl), Raymond Champ Phillips (Leslie), Gail Phillips (Henry), Raymond Super Phillips, Hope Phillips, Faith Phillips, Tina Rowell (Jeff), Penny Hughes (Scotty). 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the American Legion in Greenville, Ga. on his birthdate, Sunday October 25, 2020 at 1:47pm.
