Sherry Jean Mosteller Cason
October 8, 1943 – June 14, 2023

Sherry Jean Mosteller Cason was born October 8, 1943 in Gadsden, Alabama and passed away on June 14,2023 while in the care of Compassus Hospice, at Bethany House. She was 79 years old.

Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, William “Buddy” Bennett Cason. She is survived by her daughter, Alicia Cason Yates, along with two granddaughters, Kaitlin Yates and Kimber Jones and husband Mark. She is also survived by her dear sister, Carol Waid and husband Frank Waid, and by her beloved dog, Patches.

Sherry was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and one of the most caring friends. In her spare time she enjoyed painting, as well as camping and enjoying nature. She was particularly fond of bird watching as well as feeding and watching over what she affectionately referred to as her “pet deer” every time they visited her.

She dedicated years of her life to teaching a Sunday School class for young children alongside her beloved husband as well as volunteering with vacation bible school as a couple at Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Memorial Service to be held at Providence Baptist Church, 2807 Lee County Rd 166, Opelika, Alabama on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers in Sherry’s honor, donations can be made to the Hospice Angels Foundation in affiliation with Compassus Living Foundation:
