Shirley Jean Ledbetter Baker

On October 14, 2023, our beautiful mother, Shirley Jean Ledbetter Baker, 86, of Auburn, AL passed away peacefully. In the lovely stillness of the early morning before dawn, the angels lifted her to heaven. Shirley was born to the late Lester & Flora Ledbetter on a spring day in April. Shirley is survived by her three children, Dean, Robert and Sheryl, and other loving relatives. She is the loving sister to Barbara Ledbetter of Pennsylvania, and the deceased Earl, LE & Jimmy Ledbetter. Shirley was a Christian and an active member of Lakeview Baptist Church, and her community of Lee County, AL. Our mother had a successful career as a Lee County Realtor. She also loved her position as a legal assistant for the late, Honorable Knox McMillan.

She will be remembered for her lovely smile and laugh, and for all the heart she shared with her family & friends. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for my mother during the last years of her life. Funeral services will be private; however, a celebration of her life will be arranged at a later date by family. Thank you for your loving words of encouragement, and continued prayers for family & friends.
